Thranduil, the Elvenking is an Elf-ball combo general that functions as a five-mana draw engine and graveyard activated-ability toolbox. The primary line is to assemble a board of Elf mana dorks (Priest of Titania, Wirewood Channeler, Incubation Druid), convert their generated mana into an infinite untap loop with Umbral Mantle, Freed from the Real, or Staff of Domination, and then finish through Thranduil using Ezuri Renegade Leader or Jarad from the graveyard. Secondary beatdown wins come from Elf lords and mass pumps. Channel lands and free counterspells protect the combo. The commander accelerates draw and unlocks the cleanest win lines, but the dork-and-untap core can still win without him.
