Deck overview

This is a mono-black, legend-heavy value and aristocrats-style deck built around Zenos yae Galvus // Shinryu, Transcendent Rival. The front side fires an asymmetrical -2/-2 sweep that clears small opposing boards while protecting one chosen creature; killing that chosen creature transforms Zenos into Shinryu, Transcendent Rival, an 8/8 flying Dragon whose Burning Chains ability lets you win the game when the chosen player dies. The 99 is a pile of black goodstuff: death-trigger drains, sacrifice payoffs, reanimation, and a slow equipment package. The deck has no fast infinite combo; it wins through repeated commander damage from Shinryu, incremental drain from cards like Syr Konrad, the Grim and Bastion of Remembrance, and alternate "lose the game" effects such as Summon: Primal Odin. Bolas's Citadel and K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth provide the engine that sequences this midrange game plan.
