Deck overview

This Boros deck executes a focused Voltron and combat-step strategy led by Karlach, Fury of Avernus and Flaming Fist. By combining double strike from the background with Karlach's built-in extra combat phase, Karlach attacks twice per turn, dealing upwards of 20 to 32 commander damage in a single round. The deck uses low-cost equipment tutors like Stoneforge Mystic and Steelshaper's Gift to find evasion and stat boosts such as Commander's Plate and Hero's Blade, allowing Karlach to eliminate an opponent each turn starting on Turn 5. A robust package of free redirection spells, phasing, and indestructible equipment protects Karlach from interaction, while cards like Aggravated Assault and Gisela, Blade of Goldnight serve as strong backup finishers. The deck excels at fast single-target eliminations, though it relies heavily on Karlach remaining on the battlefield to maintain its clock.
