Budget Hakbal by skubs

Format: Commander

Commander: Hakbal of the Surging Soul

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Hakbal of the Surging Soul is a midrange Merfolk swarm deck whose commander converts every combat into an explore: lands are drawn from the deck, while nonlands add +1/+1 counters. The primary plan is to flood the board with Merfolk and changelings, grow them with exploration, and finish through repeated wide attacks, aided by unblockable and flying threats. Attuma and Merfolk Cave-Diver provide anthem and evasion payoffs, and a handful of draw/filter spells help recover when the engine is disrupted. The deck has no infinite combo; combat damage is the only win condition, and recovery from mass removal is poor. No hidden commander is present.
