Deck overview

This is a Rakdos Treasure/Dragon deck helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable, an 8/7 flying, indestructible, hasty dragon that creates Treasures whenever it is dealt noncombat damage. The core loop is to use Smaug's indestructible body as a damage sponge: Pestilence, Pyrohemia, Pariah's Shield, Blazing Sunsteel, Brash Taunter, and Pain for All all convert noncombat damage into a flood of Treasure tokens. Xorn and Academy Manufactor multiply the output, while Goldspan Dragon and Alchemist's Talent make each Treasure tap for two mana. The Treasures then feed two kill channels: drain payoffs (Mayhem Devil, Disciple of the Vault, Marionette Master, Mirkwood Bats, Ingenious Artillerist, Reckless Fireweaver, Weftstalker Ardent, Black Waltz No. 3) and artifact-count wins (Hellkite Tyrant at 20 artifacts, Knuckles the Echidna at 30). Combat with Scourge of the Throne and Exsanguinate serve as backup.
