glissa the sunslayer (golgari) by user8305639

Format: Commander

Commander: Glissa Sunslayer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a classic Nekusar, the Mindrazer "group slug" deck that forces opponents to draw extra cards and then punishes them for each draw. The primary game plan is to deploy the commander alongside a critical mass of symmetrical draw effects (Howling Mine, Dictate of Kruphix, Teferi's Puzzle Box) and damage-on-draw triggers (Underworld Dreams, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Orcish Bowmasters, Spiteful Visions). Wheel effects such as Windfall and Reforge the Soul accelerate the clock by refilling hands and triggering every punishment piece at once. The deck also contains two infinite combos - Sanguine Bond + Exquisite Blood and Mindcrank + Bloodchief Ascension - as alternative win conditions. While the commander is the central engine, the deck can still operate through its redundant punishment suite if Nekusar is removed. The overall plan is linear but explosive: force draws, deal damage, and close out the game through cumulative life loss or a combo.
