Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Fire Lord Azula leads a Grixis spellslinger deck built around attacking with the commander. On each attack she produces two red mana and copies every spell cast while she is attacking, turning instants into extra cards and mana. The deck uses cost reducers and magecraft payoffs-Storm-Kiln Artist, Archmage Emeritus, Veyran-to turn those copied spells into treasures, draws, and damage. Secondary value comes from Kess, Mizzix's Mastery, and the hidden Azula, Cunning Usurper. The usual finish is a big storm turn with Grapeshot or Aetherflux Reservoir, or an incidental pinger kill from Guttersnipe and Electrostatic Field. Interaction is instant-heavy, but there are no tutors or free counterspells.
