Deck overview

This Simic deck is built around The Astonishing Ant-Man, translating card draw into +1/+1 counters and converting those counters into a wide army of 1/1 green Insect tokens. The strategy uses low-curve card velocity spells like Brainstorm, Brainsurge, and Divination to steadily grow the commander while augmenting counter placement with Hardened Scales and Branching Evolution. Once a critical mass of tokens is assembled, the deck pivots into game-ending combat buffs such as Overrun, Return of the Wildspeaker, and Banner of Kinship, or utilizes evasion via Champion of Lambholt and Wonder. While the deck generates high card flow and substantial board presence by Turns 5–6, it is inherently vulnerable to mass removal due to a lack of countermagic and mass protection, relying on proactive swarming to overwhelm opponents.
