Deck overview

This Mardu deck is helmed by Fire Lord Zuko, utilizing exile mechanics (such as airbending and impulse draw) to systematically place +1/+1 counters on your entire creature suite. In the early game, you establish low-curve Ally and Soldier creatures alongside fixing artifacts. On Turns 3 through 5, deploying Zuko and recurring exile triggers transitions the board into an aggressive posture. Attacking with Zuko generates red combat mana via firebending, funding mid-combat spells and activations. The deck converts this wide growth into a decisive victory around Turns 6 to 9 using heavy hitters like Dragonhawk, Fate's Tempest, Ozai, the Phoenix King, and Etali, Primal Storm. The list features robust creature removal and minor tax pieces, though it remains vulnerable to opposing board wipes due to limited mass protection.
