Deck overview

Doran, Besieged by Time is an Abzan toughness-matters deck that plays like a wall that hits back. The commander discounts every creature spell with toughness greater than power, letting high-toughness Treefolk, Turtles, and Walls come down under curve, while his attack/block trigger pumps them by the difference between power and toughness. The 99 carries heavy redundancy for the classic "toughness as power" effect - Doran, the Siege Tower, Assault Formation, Felothar the Steadfast, Bedrock Tortoise, and Baldin, Century Herdmaster - along with a wall of defender bodies waiting to be unlocked. The deck ramps with dorks and land-tutors, accrues cards through Betor, Kin to All, Guardian Project, and Ohran Frostfang, and closes with a massive alpha strike: Triumph of the Hordes, Last March of the Ents into a hasty board, or Betor's end-step half-life drain. There are no infinite combos; this is a midrange combat deck with big, recursive threats and an unusually high tolerance for blockers.
