Deck overview

This Golgari deck helmed by Slimefoot, the Stowaway executes a classic aristocrats game plan centered on generating Saproling tokens, sacrificing them for resource advantage, and draining opponents via Slimefoot's death triggers. Supported by complementary drain amplifiers such as Starscape Cleric and Marauding Blight-Priest, the deck steadily whittles away opposing life totals while padding its own buffer. Acceleration is solid with a high density of two-mana ramp pieces, enabling smooth early commander deployment. While the deck contains an infinite life-drain combo in Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Enduring Tenacity, the complete lack of nonland tutors means it functions primarily as an incremental midrange strategy rather than a combo deck. Its interaction package provides functional spot removal against artifacts, enchantments, and creatures, though it lacks stack disruption and stax elements, making its clock honest and reliant on accumulating board presence over several turn cycles.
