Deck overview

This deck is an explosive Boros aggro-stax build centered on Winota, Joiner of Forces. The primary game plan curves low-cost non-Human creatures and token producers into a Turn 4 Winota cast. When non-Humans attack, Winota digs six cards deep per attacker to put powerful Human creatures directly onto the battlefield tapped, attacking, and indestructible. The deck runs an aggressive split of early non-Human fodder—such as Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh, Ornithopter, and Raise the Alarm—and devastating Human payoffs like Blade Historian, Angrath's Marauders, and Goldnight Commander. In addition, stax pieces like Rule of Law, Eidolon of Rhetoric, and Thalia, Guardian of Thraben slow down opposing game plans while Winota bypasses casting restrictions entirely. With high functional redundancy across both creature roles, the deck consistently presents a lethal combat threshold on Turns 4 to 5. Protection spells defend key turns against removal, while backup go-wide anthems provide closing power if Winota is removed.
