Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Spellslinger Control strategy commanded by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The deck leverages noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater to simultaneously burn each opponent for 2 damage and gain life, triggering end-step card draw whenever 4 or more life is lost. By attaching damage-trigger auras like Curiosity, Sigil of Sleep, and Helm of the Ghastlord to Y'shtola, every qualifying spell cast draws cards, strips opposing hands, and bounces enemy creatures. Pillowfort cards such as Ghostly Prison and Propaganda stall wide combat attacks, while an elite interaction package of free counterspells and exile effects defends the board. High-impact engines like Bolas's Citadel, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, and Professor Onyx provide alternative paths to out-value the table and finish games through steady life drain.
