Commander: Betor, Ancestor's Voice

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Abzan midrange deck helmed by Betor, Ancestor's Voice weaponizes life as a resource-gaining it to grow a board of +1/+1 counters and losing it to fuel recursion, card advantage, and drain loops. Betor rewards both halves of that equation at end step, stacking counters from life gained and reanimating a creature whose mana value is at most the life lost that turn. The primary finishes are compact infinite combos in the 99: Heliod, Sun-Crowned + Walking Ballista, and Bloodthirsty Conqueror paired with either Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Enduring Tenacity. Secondary paths include overwhelming combat via Archangel of Thune, Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn, and Branching Evolution, plus raw value from Bolas's Citadel and Vilis, Broker of Blood. The list plays as a resilient lifegain-recursion engine that grinds until a two-card combo resolves.
