Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Grixis control and attrition strategy built around Lord Xander, the Collector. The game plan focuses on accelerating mana through low-cost artifacts to deploy Lord Xander by Turn 5. Upon entering the battlefield, attacking, and dying, Xander inflicts catastrophic resource destruction by halving opponents' hands, libraries, and nonland permanents. The deck heavily leverages non-legendary clone effects like Spark Double, Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, Irenicus's Vile Duplication, and Roaming Throne to duplicate these triggers and rapidly demolish opposing boards. Support pieces like Tergrid, God of Fright and Waste Not convert opponent losses into overwhelming board presence and mana, while Bruvac the Grandiloquent enables one-shot library eliminations. A format-ceiling interaction suite—headlined by Force of Will, Deflecting Swat, and Fierce Guardianship—protects Xander and disrupts opposing threats, ensuring the table remains locked under severe asymmetric resource denial until victory is achieved.
