Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Simic Merfolk tribal and engine strategy helmed by Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca. The game plan revolves around rapidly developing low-cost Merfolk and token generators like Deeproot Pilgrimage and Deeproot Waters, using Kumena as a mana-free card advantage and board-buffing outlet. Untap engines such as Seedborn Muse, Awakening, and Merrow Commerce turn Kumena's abilities into a continuous stream of cards and +1/+1 counters on opposing turns. The deck closes games either through unblockable go-wide combat damage enabled by Herald of Secret Streams and one-sided sweepers like Raise the Palisade, or via an infinite untap loop with Isochron Scepter and Dramatic Reversal. A robust defensive suite featuring Heroic Intervention, Ripples of Potential, and Vodalian Hexcatcher ensures the creature swarm survives opposing sweepers.
