Deck overview

This Orzhov deck uses Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel to turn steady lifegain into extra card draw. The strategy builds around creatures that gain life whenever permanents enter or die, such as Soul Warden and Auriok Champion, paired with cards that punish opponents for that lifegain, including Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, and Marauding Blight-Priest. The deck can win through an infinite drain loop with Exquisite Blood or through alternate win conditions like Felidar Sovereign and Test of Endurance. However, the deck carries a fragile mana base with only 33 lands and minimal low-cost ramp, which slows down casting the 6-mana commander. The list also lacks tutors to find key combo pieces quickly and has few protection spells to shield its critical creatures.
