Jon Irenicus the shattered one by Peepers

Format: Commander

Commander: Jon Irenicus, Shattered One

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Dimir "bad gifts" deck built around Jon Irenicus, Shattered One. The plan is to deploy creatures whose drawbacks are normally crippling - Rotting Regisaur, Ebonblade Reaper, Abyssal Persecutor, Phyrexian Obliterator - and then use Jon's end-step trigger to hand them to opponents. Once donated, they get bigger, become goaded, and cannot be sacrificed, forcing opponents to attack each other while Jon draws a card from each attacking gift. The primary win condition is attrition via combat damage from these donated beaters, accelerated by Ebonblade Reaper's life-halving, infect from Blighted Agent and Phyrexian Vatmother, and the various upkeep/combat triggers that punish the creature's controller. Backup donation effects like Donate, Fateful Handoff, Wrong Turn, and Assault Suit let the deck function even if Jon is temporarily unavailable. The commander is the engine: without him, the gifts lose their goad, their can't-be-sacrificed clause, and the deck's primary card-draw source.
