Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger tempo build commanded by Baral and Kari Zev. The primary game plan revolves around casting an instant or sorcery each turn to trigger the commander, either cheating out a lower-cost spell for substantial tempo or generating a 2/1 First Mate Ragavan token to apply steady combat pressure. The deck supports this game loop with cost reducers like Baral, Chief of Compliance and Ral, Monsoon Mage, card draw engines such as Archmage Emeritus, and flexible burn spells. As the game transitions into the mid-to-late turns, high-impact finishers including Thor, God of Thunder, Ashling, Flame Dancer, and City on Fire turn small spell casts into lethal life-total swings. Interaction is concentrated in efficient counterspells and red removal, providing protection and creature control while grinding down all three opponents.
