Deck overview

This Selesnya Midrange deck is commanded by Samwise Gamgee and focuses on weaponizing Food tokens through engine synergy, lifegain payoffs, and scaling combat damage. Early turns focus on casting Samwise and establishing token generation engines through creatures like Astrid Peth, Peregrin Took, and The Cabbage Merchant. As Food tokens accumulate, cards such as Jaheira, Friend of the Forest and Night of the Sweets' Revenge convert artifact tokens into substantial mana acceleration. The deck translates lifegain from snacking into board presence using Treebeard, Gracious Host, Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn, and Gwaihir, Greatest of the Eagles. Victory is typically achieved around Turn 8 through overwhelming combat damage powered by a massive +X/+X overrun from Night of the Sweets' Revenge or tall evasive beaters. While the deck boasts high internal synergy and strong engine recovery through Samwise's historic recursion, it lacks instant-speed interaction and remains susceptible to broad artifact and creature sweepers.
