Deck overview

This deck is a mid-paced Grixis cascade engine piloted by Abaddon the Despoiler. The core game plan focuses on utilizing low-cost continuous damage sources, such as Spear Spewer, Creeping Bloodsucker, and Thermo-Alchemist, to trigger Abaddon's Mark of Chaos Ascendant ability. Once opponents lose life, every spell cast from hand gains cascade, rapidly cheating mana costs and flooding the board with Demon beaters, tokens from The Lost and the Damned, and explosive damage triggers from Keeper of Secrets and Ancient Cellarspawn. While the deck possesses explosive mid-game turns with spells like Call Forth the Tempest and Blood for the Blood God!, it relies primarily on combat damage and direct burn to close the game rather than infinite combos. Its main vulnerabilities stem from a high dependency on Abaddon staying on the battlefield and a relative lack of cheap counterspells to protect its commander.
