Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius control and Sphinx tribal strategy helmed by Medomai the Ageless. The game plan accelerates mana development during the early turns using efficient rocks and tribal cost reducers like Urza's Incubator and Warden of Evos Isle. By Turn 5, the deck deploys Medomai or high-impact value engines such as Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign. On Turn 6, connecting with Medomai grants an extra turn, dramatically pulling ahead on board development, untap steps, and card draw. The deck protects its engines with countermagic, equipment, and protection spells like Dawn's Truce. It closes games through overwhelming aerial combat, alternate win conditions like Approach of the Second Sun, or an infinite extra-turn loop combining Medomai with Phantom Steed. While lacking direct tutors, immense card draw engines ensure reliable access to finishers.
