Deck overview

This Golgari deck centers on Ygra, Eater of All, turning every creature on the battlefield into a Food artifact. This transformation unlocks powerful synergies: every creature that dies or gets sacrificed puts two +1/+1 counters on Ygra. The deck accelerates into Ygra on turn 4 using early token producers such as Vinereap Mentor and Tough Cookie. Once Ygra enters, asymmetric artifact wipes like Bane of Progress and Season of Gathering clear opposing creature boards while supercharging Ygra into a one-hit commander damage threat. In support, Chatterfang, Squirrel General and Camellia, the Seedmiser turn Food sacrifices into an army of Squirrels, providing a wide secondary combat plan. While the deck possesses strong resilience through 41 lands and high threat density, it relies heavily on the combat phase and has minimal stack protection against opposing exile removal or combo wins.
