Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a classic Kaalia of the Vast Angel/Demon/Dragon cheat-into-play deck, built entirely around turning Kaalia's attack trigger into a relentless wave of evasive, high-power flyers. The core loop is simple: suit Kaalia up with haste (Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, Haunted Cloak), swing, and drop a Lathliss, Dragon Queen, Balefire Dragon, or Avacyn, Angel of Hope directly into the red zone. The hidden engine is Isshin, Two Heavens as One, which doubles every attack trigger - including Kaalia's - and Aurelia, the Warleader, which chains extra combats so the freshly-cheated flyers attack multiple times per turn. The deck wins through overwhelming combat damage backed by a solid protection and deterrent suite (No Mercy, Akroma's Will, Boros Charm), with a single Helm of the Host-based infinite-combat line as a backup. It is a tempo-forward midrange deck that punishes slow boards rather than a fast combo deck.
