Deck overview

This Mardu deck is led by Fire Lord Zuko, merging combat mana generation (Firebending) with exile-casting and blink mechanics (Airbending). The strategy ramps in the early turns, deploys Zuko on Turn 3, and resolves an impulse-exile or airbending engine by Turn 4. Attacking with Zuko produces red mana during combat, which pays for exiled spells and distributes +1/+1 counters to all creatures you control. This feedback loop expands your board power and increases Zuko's future firebending mana. By Turn 6, the deck achieves critical onset with wide, buffed attackers or decisive finishers like Etali, Primal Storm and Ozai, the Phoenix King. It reliably closes out games across two combat cycles by Turn 8. Interaction like Deadly Rollick and Avatar's Wrath clears path blockers, while independent threats ensure resilience if Zuko is removed.
