Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Combat Spellslinger deck commanded by Fire Lord Azula. Azula generates {R}{R} whenever she attacks and copies any spell cast while she is attacking. The deck capitalizes on this timing window by casting instant-speed power-doubling spells like Unleash Fury and Bulk Up, quadrupling her power in a single combat step to eliminate opponents with lethal commander damage. In addition to voltron pump spells, the list features potent Magecraft and spell-token payoffs including Archmage Emeritus, Storm-Kiln Artist, Saheeli, Jewel of Avishkar, and Ovika, Enigma Goliath to flood the board with evasive creatures. Flash enablers such as Leyline of Anticipation and High Fae Trickster expand Azula's ability by letting sorceries and creatures be cast and copied mid-combat. While the deck boasts high burst potential, its reliance on combat damage leaves it vulnerable to well-timed removal and board wipes across multiple table rotations.
