Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai Spellslinger list helmed by Gandalf, Party Guest, leaning into legendary Wizard synergies alongside classic storm and burn payoffs. The deck aims to ramp smoothly on Turn 2, establish its commander alongside cost reducers like Baral, Chief of Compliance or Stormcatch Mentor on Turn 4, and leverage free combat spell-casts for incremental value. Around Turn 6, the deck converts available mana and rituals like Seething Song into an explosive, non-infinite storm turn powered by Archmage Emeritus, Birgi, God of Storytelling, and Storm-Kiln Artist. Victory is achieved either by draining the entire table in one turn through Fiery Inscription, Coruscation Mage, and Vivi Ornitier, or by executing a massive combat alpha strike via Akroma's Will and Wizard stat pump from Balmor, Battlemage Captain. It features strong instant-speed interaction but remains vulnerable to targeted disruption aimed at its creature-heavy engine pieces.
