Deck overview

This Dimir Spellslinger deck pairs Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy with Scion of Halaster to create a grindy, graveyard-centric control engine. Scion of Halaster provides early card selection while loading the graveyard with high-impact instants and sorceries. Once Gale enters the battlefield, every instant cast from hand unlocks a sorcery from the graveyard, and vice versa. This double-casting engine generates substantial card advantage with spells like See the Truth and maintains board control using efficient removal like Resculpt and Drown in the Loch. Cost reducers such as Baral, Chief of Compliance and Sapphire Medallion accelerate spell velocity. The deck closes games by converting spell casts into flying armies via Talrand, Sky Summoner and Shark Typhoon, while defensive enchantments like Propaganda protect life totals during development.
