Deck overview

This Dimir deck leverages Satoru Umezawa to cheat devastating high-cost creatures into combat for just {2}{U}{B}. The core strategy starts with deploying cheap, unblockable 1-drops like Changeling Outcast and Mist-Cloaked Herald. Once Satoru enters the battlefield, any unblocked attacker can swap with terrifying threats like Archon of Cruelty or Ancient Silver Dragon. Activating ninjutsu also triggers Satoru's ability to dig three cards deep, providing steady card selection. The deck backs up this combat pressure with potent disruption, including Notion Thief, Dauthi Voidwalker, and cheap counterspells like Force of Negation and Mana Drain. If combat damage alone does not close the game, the deck can pivot smoothly into compact combo finishes via Doomsday with Thassa's Oracle, or infinite extra turns using Panoptic Mirror imprinted with Time Warp.
