Deck overview

An Azorius life-gain control deck that uses Hope Estheim as an incremental mill finisher rather than the engine. The real center is a compact tutor chain: tax permanents such as Blind Obedience, Rhystic Study, and Deafening Silence slow the table while Enlightened/Idyllic/Fabricate find Heliod + Walking Ballista or Felidar + Phyrexian Metamorph loops. Lifegain from Soul Warden and Soul's Attendant feeds both Hope's end-step mill and Heliod's counter generation. A dense counter suite protects the combo turn, and Bruvac + Maddening Cacophony or Beacon of Immortality supply a non-combat alternate finish. There is no hidden commander; Heliod is the de facto payoff but not a hidden general.
