Deck overview

This Azorius artifact-token deck is helmed by Belisarius Cawl, a value engine that turns artifact tap-ping into both token generation and card selection. The primary game plan is to deploy a dense field of artifacts, use Cawl's first ability to craft an army of 2/2 Astartes Warrior tokens, and then leverage his second ability to dig for critical artifacts like Mirrodin Besieged or Porcelain Gallery. The deck wins through either the Phyrexian mode of Mirrodin Besieged (mill fifteen artifacts into the graveyard) or by overwhelming combat with tokens boosted by Porcelain Gallery and Elspeth, Sun's Champion. Secondary value engines like Shorikai, Genesis Engine, Emry, Lurker of the Loch, and Unwinding Clock provide card advantage, recursion, and untap loops. The commander's activated abilities serve as the deck's primary tutor and token engine, making it a moderately commander-dependent strategy that thrives on artifact density.
