Deck overview

This mono-blue deck leverages Lady Octopus, Inspired Inventor to bypass mana costs on high-impact artifacts. By drawing two cards each turn using engines like Super Intelligence, Brainstorm, and Sensei's Divining Top, Lady Octopus steadily accumulates ingenuity counters. The deck accelerates this growth with proliferate effects like Contagion Clasp and Inexorable Tide. Once the counter threshold reaches the mid-to-high mana values, Lady Octopus taps to deploy decisive threats such as Blightsteel Colossus, The Endstone, or Cyberdrive Awakener entirely for free. A dense suite of blue counterspells—including Counterspell, Disruption Protocol, and Saw It Coming—protects both the setup and the closing turns. In addition to combat finishes, the deck features asymmetric stax lines such as Narset, Parter of Veils combined with Teferi's Puzzle Box, which strips opponents of their hands. The deck generates massive mana velocity, strong card flow, and resilient board states.
