Lathiel life by user9969024

Format: Commander

Commander: Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Lathiel turns repeated lifegain triggers into +1/+1 counters, so the deck's primary plan is to flood the board with small lifegain creatures while Lathiel, Hardened Scales-style effects, and Conclave Mentor amplify every counter. The most deterministic wins do not need the commander: Scurry Oak plus Ivy Lane Denizen creates an arbitrarily large Squirrel swarm, and Cleric Class plus Spike Feeder plus Sunbond creates an arbitrarily large lifelinking creature. Lathiel is a powerful supplement rather than a requirement, giving this list a non-combo counter-based fallback. Secondary paths include Abzan Falconer granting flying, Dawn of Hope converting life into cards, and Storm Herd as a later lifegain payoff. There is no real hidden commander in the list.
