Felothar by Skomoto

Format: Commander

Commander: Felothar the Steadfast

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Felothar the Steadfast leads an Abzan defender deck that turns high toughness into damage. Felothar lets walls attack and makes damage equal toughness, while his sacrifice ability converts toughness into cards. The deck floods the board with 0/4 to 0/10 defenders, pumps them with Stalwart Shield-Bearers and Baldin, and swings for lethal. Backup plans include Betor, Kin to All halving life at 40 toughness, Blight Pile and Jaws of Defeat draining on entry, and Tree of Perdition swapping life. Doran, Besieged by Time acts as a hidden commander, providing a redundant toughness-matters engine and cost reduction when Felothar is removed.
