Deck overview

This deck is a Jund midrange strategy built around -1/-1 counters, wither mechanics, proliferate triggers, and creature theft helmed by The Reaper, King No More. The primary game plan accelerates mana on Turns 1 and 2, establishes value engines such as Generous Patron, Nest of Scarabs, or Yawgmoth, Thran Physician on Turns 3 and 4, and deploys the commander to place counters and begin stealing opposing creatures as they die. On Turn 6, the deck achieves critical onset through asymmetric board wipes and continuous attrition enabled by Maha, Its Feathers Night, Contagion Engine, and All Will Be One. The table is closed out by Turn 8 through incremental life drain from Obelisk Spider and Massacre Wurm, direct damage from counter placement, and combat damage with stolen creatures. The deck excels at grinding out creature-heavy pods but relies heavily on permanent-based board presence.
