Bhaal Vampires

Format: Commander

Commander: Bhaal, Lord of Murder

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Jund Vampire tribal deck helmed by Bhaal, Lord of Murder, built around a death-trigger engine that rewards you for nontoken creatures dying. The primary strategy is to generate a steady stream of Blood tokens, use sacrifice outlets to trigger Bhaal's +1/+1 counter and goad ability, and then overwhelm opponents with a growing army of Vampires and goaded creatures. The deck lacks fast combos or explosive plays, instead relying on incremental value from Altar's Reap, Summon Undead, and Bramble Sovereign to grind out advantages. The finisher is combat damage, occasionally supplemented by Fireball for reach. The deck is moderately dependent on its commander to accelerate the goad/counter plan, but it can still function as a straightforward Vampire beatdown deck without him.
