mortarion primarch by SpaceCowboy223

Format: Commander

Commander: Mortarion, Daemon Primarch

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Mortarion, Daemon Primarch is a mono-black life-payment engine. The deck's primary plan is to spend life aggressively-through Necropotence, Dark Confidant, Wall of Blood, and K'rrik-then convert that life loss into a swarm of 2/2 menace tokens at each end step. The secondary, faster path is the hidden commander Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose: pair him with Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror, and any life-gain trigger becomes an infinite drain loop. Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Ayara provide a devotion/attrition backup. Ramp from Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nykthos fuels both large X payments and the expensive combo pieces.
