Commander: Saruman, the White Hand

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Saruman, the White Hand is a Grixis spells-matter commander that builds a massive Orc Army by casting noncreature spells, then kills the table with unblockable or double-strike combat damage or direct damage like Fling. The deck uses amass triggers from instants, sorceries, enchantments, and sagas to grow one Army token, with support from Mauhur to accelerate +1/+1 counters and spells like Assault on Osgiliath to give the Army double strike and haste. Secondary paths include draining opponents with Guttersnipe and Fiery Inscription, stealing creatures via In the Darkness Bind Them, and generating card advantage through cheap draw spells and graveyard recursion. The hidden commander is the Army token itself, which concentrates power and needs protection from removal.
