Deck overview

This Sultai deck is a focused Midrange strategy built around Zaxara, the Exemplary. It accelerates into its commander by Turn 4 to tap for two additional mana on Turn 5, converting every subsequent X-cost spell into an additional, massive Hydra creature token. The game plan relies on casting scalable threats such as Hydroid Krasis, Genesis Hydra, and Voracious Hydra, then transitioning into lethal unblockable or flying combat swings via Herald of Secret Streams, Sapphire Drake, or Open into Wonder. While the deck produces substantial mana and massive board presence, its interactive package relies heavily on sorcery-speed removal and lacks countermagic or defensive protection spells. This makes it vulnerable to board wipes and fast combo decks. Overall, it plays an engaging, highly synergistic stompy plan that scales rapidly into the late game.
