Deck overview

This Simic deck is led by Volo, Guide to Monsters and focuses on doubling diverse creature spells to overwhelm opponents with board presence and +1/+1 counters. Early turns develop mana using cheap dorks and artifacts such as Sol Ring and Three Tree Rootweaver. Once Volo enters the battlefield, every non-overlapping creature cast creates an immediate token copy, doubling threats like Quakestrider Ceratops and ETB triggers like Verdurous Gearhulk. The deck protects its board using an efficient suite of counterspells such as Counterspell and Daze, along with targeted protection spells like Royal Treatment. It closes out games through massive combat steps, aided by Champion of Lambholt to prevent blockers or Preposterous Proportions to grant overwhelming power and vigilance. While vulnerable to board wipes and lacking creature tutors, its raw stats and doubling engine generate formidable pressure.
