Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Mono-Red Discard Aggro and Voltron strategy led by Jiang Yanggu, Alone. The game plan revolves around leveraging red rummage and looting effects to rapidly cycle through the library while triggering discard payoffs. When Yanggu or another creature attacks alone, Yanggu converts discarded cards into substantial +1/+1 counters while maintaining card flow. The deck accelerates its single-target combat clock using damage multipliers like Gratuitous Violence and Fiendish Duo, paired with extra combat phases from Port Razer, Scourge of the Throne, and Seize the Day. Ancillary burn engines such as Magmakin Artillerist and Casey Jones, Back Alley Brute distribute incidental damage to the entire table whenever cards are discarded or counters are placed. Operating primarily on curve through basic Mountains and mid-cost Treasure generators, the deck establishes a formidable combat threat by Turn 6 and looks to close out the game by Turn 8.
