Deck overview

This Golgari deck utilizes Blech, Loafing Pest to convert repeatable lifegain instances into wide-board +1/+1 counters across batched kindred creature types: Pests, Bats, Insects, Snakes, and Spiders. Early game turns establish cheap mana acceleration and passive lifegain engines like Essence Warden and Eumidian Terrabotanist. Once Blech enters the battlefield on turn 3, token producers such as Ophiomancer, Scute Swarm, and Pest Infestation populate the board, growing exponentially with each lifegain event. The mid-to-late game applies escalating pressure via trampling swarms enhanced by Blossoming Bogbeast or indirect life loss via Mirkwood Bats and Cauldron of Essence. While resilient to ground attrition through aristocrats synergies and recursion engines like Witch of the Moors, the deck operates at fair creature speeds, remaining vulnerable to mass exile and sweepers while relying on multi-turn combat rotations to eliminate the table.
