Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages high-toughness landcycling creatures to fuel Venom, Deadly Devourer. In the opening turns, cheap cyclers like Generous Ent, Troll of Khazad-dûm, and Saber-Tooth Moose-Lion fix mana while loading the graveyard with massive bodies. Once Venom enters the battlefield, its activated ability exiles these creatures to place huge piles of +1/+1 counters onto itself, rapidly growing into a double-digit power threat with innate menace and vigilance. The deck supports this aggressive Voltron plan with counter enhancers such as Corpsejack Menace and Hardened Scales, along with cheap defensive spells like Blossoming Defense and Snakeskin Veil. A strong suite of flexible Golgari removal spells keeps dangerous opposing threats in check. The deck's primary route to victory is eliminating opponents sequentially through lethal commander damage.
