Deck overview

This Xyris, the Writhing Storm deck executes a high-velocity wheel and token swarm strategy. The primary plan leverages symmetrical draw spells and wheels to trigger Xyris's ability, flooding the board with 1/1 green Snake tokens while drawing into protection and anthem effects. Early turns focus on establishing mana through artifacts and dorks, aiming to resolve Xyris on Turn 4. On Turn 5, casting a wheel such as Windfall or Winds of Change creates 21 Snake tokens across three opponents. The deck then converts this massive board into a lethal combat finish on Turn 6 using mass pumps like Shared Animosity and Beastmaster Ascension, or through direct burn from Psychosis Crawler and Molten Psyche. A suite of cheap counterspells and green protective instants guards the engine against sweepers. Without Xyris, backup threats like The Locust God and Niv-Mizzet, Parun sustain lethal wheel synergies.
