Format: Commander

Commander: Marneus Calgar

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Marneus Calgar commands a token-and-drain deck. The primary plan is to make tokens from enchantments, planeswalkers, and vehicles, then use those tokens for card draw and sacrifice value. Secondary lines use Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation to triple token output, then either attack with a wide evasive army or convert token deaths into repeated life loss. Marneus's activated ability becomes a draw-and-token engine, especially with Training Grounds. The deck wins through altar loops, Aristocrat triggers, or large token swings, often using a mix of all three. It is a mid-speed value engine rather than a fast all-in combo deck, and it relies on incremental advantage before finishing.
