Deck overview

This Edgar Markov deck executes an aggressive Mardu Vampire tribal strategy centered on the Eminence ability. From the opening turns, casting low-mana Vampires continuously generates 1/1 Vampire tokens without requiring Edgar to leave the command zone. The deck converts this rapid token generation into overwhelming board presence using tribal anthem lords like Stromkirk Captain, Legion Lieutenant, and Captivating Vampire, alongside counter engines such as Cordial Vampire and Drana, Liberator of Malakir. Aristocrat engines like Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Sanctum Seeker bleed opponents whenever creatures attack or die, applying relentless pressure. The deck threatens game-ending combat steps using Akroma's Will or by casting Edgar Markov to buff the entire board. In addition to combat aggression, the list features a two-card infinite combo with Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond or Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, allowing an instant table kill when combat is stalled.
