Deck overview

This Simic deck is helmed by Kenessos, Priest of Thassa, leveraging scry mechanics and topdeck manipulation to cheat massive Sea Monsters directly onto the battlefield. The strategy focuses on accelerating mana on early turns, deploying Kenessos, and manipulating the top of the library with cards like Sigiled Starfish, Mystic Speculation, and Treasure Map. Once active, Kenessos activates for four mana—or as little as two with Training Grounds or Biomancer's Familiar—to deploy heavyweight threats like Koma, Cosmos Serpent, Spawning Kraken, Tromokratis, and Serpent of Yawning Depths at instant speed. The deck converts these behemoths into rapid game closures through combat-damage draw engines (Coastal Piracy, Bident of Thassa) and asymmetric sweepers (Whelming Wave, Scourge of Fleets) that leave the sea monsters intact while clearing opposing boards. While vulnerable to early spot removal targeting Kenessos and lacking unconditional tutors, the deck exerts overwhelming mid-game combat pressure.
