Deck overview

This deck is a specialized toughness-matters aggro-control strategy piloted by Plagon, Lord of the Beach. The game plan revolves around deploying cheap, high-toughness creatures that double as resilient blockers and aggressive attackers. Once the board is established, Plagon enters the battlefield to draw a burst of cards scaling with your high-toughness permanents. The deck then converts toughness into lethal combat damage using Plagon's activated ability or static effects like High Alert and Baldin, Century Herdmaster. Asymmetric board wipes such as Slaughter the Strong and Dusk // Dawn break parity by wiping opposing boards while leaving your low-power defenders untouched. Blink spells serve a dual purpose, resetting Plagon for repeated card draw while shielding high-value permanents from spot removal. While vulnerable to mass exile effects and lacking fast-mana combos, the deck generates substantial combat pressure starting around Turn 6 and steadily eliminates opponents through unblockable or overwhelming combat damage by Turn 8.
