Deck overview

This is a Jeskai legendary-Wizard spellslinger deck built around Gandalf, Party Guest's beginning-of-combat trigger. The game plan is to assemble several legendary Wizards early - Kaza, Roil Chaser, Baral, Chief of Compliance, Kykar, Wind's Fury, Veyran, Voice of Duality - so Gandalf's X climbs to 6-8 and the deck starts casting game-ending instants and sorceries for free every combat. Wins come from chaining extra-combat spells (Full Throttle, Relentless Assault, Savage Beating, Waves of Aggression) into a single overloaded turn, supported by Balmor, Battlemage Captain / Adeliz, the Cinder Wind pump and the persistent pings of Gandalf the Grey and Vivi Ornitier. Extra-turn spells (Time Warp, Capture of Jingzhou, Temporal Manipulation) extend the chain, while Insurrection, the transformed The Emperor of Palamecia, and Aminatou's Augury provide alternate finishes.
