Deck overview

This mono-black deck pairs Sarevok, Deathbringer with Cultist of the Absolute to build an aggressive punisher strategy. It uses cheap, recurring sacrifice fodder to feed Cultist's upkeep requirement, transforming Sarevok into a massive 6/7 flying and deathtouch commander. By sacrificing a creature each turn, the pilot bypasses Sarevok's end-step penalty while forcing opponents without sacrificial engines to lose 6 life on their own end steps. The 99 supports this core loop with aristocrat drain effects, death-trigger card draw, and defensive recursion spells. While the deck applies heavy early combat and life pressure, its slow multi-turn clock and reliance on combat damage leave it vulnerable to creature removal and board wipes before it can eliminate the entire table.
